The National Inland Waterways Authority and Water Transport branch of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria have been thrown into mourning as the much admired and hardworking general secretary of this branch of the Union, Comrade Patrick Okodo has reportedly passed on to a great beyond.
Speaking with one of the late Comrades colleagues, he said that it was with deep grief and sadness that they received the news as he declared that the deceased passed on suddenly, but that further details will be made available over time as they are yet to come to terms with the loss.
He also added that the obsequies will go according to the wishes of the late Comrade’s family.
