NPA Management Tours Calabar Port, Commissions Safety Station

The Nigerian Ports Authority NPA, has said it is committed to increase economic activities at the Calabar Port, this is in line with its resolve to boost patronage of ports in the Eastern part of the country.

While commissioning the new mini safety station at the Calabar Port, Managing Director of the NPA, Mohammed Bello- Koko, disclosed that in addition to improve safety at the port, the authority is planning to review earlier incentives granted to the port users, especially importers, exporters and shipping lines.

He said that such review had become necessary to ensure that the aims and objectives of such incentives were achieved as well as making sure the economic benefits of such incentives trickled down to every segment of the port stakeholders, which will in turn increase patronage of the port.

The Management of NPA led by the Managing Director, Engr. Bello Koko met with stakeholders of the Calabar Port during an interactiive section and equally paid homage to the Obong of Calabar, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V in his palace.
