The Federal government has condemned the barbaric kidnapping of passengers at Tom Ikimi Train Station Igueben, Edo State.
The passengers who were awaiting the arrival of a train en route warri in Delta State were kidnapped by some gunmen, who shot sporadically while leading several of the passenger to the bush.
A statement by the Director, Press and Public Relations, Henshaw Ogubike reassures the public that the security Agencies are making efforts to rescue the kidnapped Train passengers.
The statement said the Nigerian Police is on the trail of the criminals and have mobilised with a view to protecting the lives and property of the remaining passengers.
It said the Government is saddened by this unpleasant development and assures on its prompt response to the ugly situation.
