To suppress smuggling to the bearest minimum, and enforce National Security at the Nations Port, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Tin Can Customs Command has recovered arms and ammunition loaded in a Toyota Camry at the exit point at the Five-Star Logistics Terminal.

According to a statement issued and signed by the Image maker of the command, Superintendent Uche Ejesieme stated that,

” Our operatives at the Five-Star Logistics terminal while on routine examination on the 28th day of August 2021, stumbled on a pistol with its magazine inside a Toyota camry car at the exit point”, the statement said.

” Consequently and in line with our standard operating procedure(SOP),the DSS, police and other security Agencies were invited to the scene.”

It added, “Thereafter the exhibit was taken to the customs Enforcement unit for safe custody
pending a formal report to customs headquarters for further directives.”

” We are using this opportunity to once again advise importers and their agents to desist from getting involved with such offensive imports particularly items like this on the list of Absolute prohibition in view of the dire consequence.”

However, the Customs Area Controller of the command, Compt. Musa Abdullahi, gave
immediate direction for thorough investigation into the incident and unravel those behind and ensure a truncation of their supply chain.
