Engr. Anji said these at the handing over ceremony that takes place at the conference room, TCIPC Lagos on Monday 25th October, 2021.

Addressing the gathering at the ceremony, Anji lauded the efforts of Management of the NPA for the introduction of the E-CALL up system ETO. He emphasizes on continuity as watchdog and pleaded that whatever idea or initiatives he used should be adopted as that measure will help move traffic out of the road.

” I discovered that whenever we move a towing vehicle towards a violated trucks, you see them moving by themselves out of the place, that fear in them is OK, if towing vehicle can put fear in them and make them move, not the police, them we use it”.

The outgoing Port Manager reiterated that ETO was able to address the perennial gridlock within the port access road of TCIPC.

He noted that the introduction of the e-call up system further brought sanity to the port adding that despite the road construction, transporters and truckers were able to find some level of succour in their operations.

” They have understanding, I interact with the truckers, exchange my number with them, so they call me anytime even in the midnight”.

Anji maintained that truckers are responsible people with good heart against the background of negative impression from stakeholders but stressed the need for more enlightenment on ETO.

“our truckers are not violent, its all about awareness, they chat with you even control traffic with you, they are not harmful except when you look down on them”, he said.

The NPA management all took turn to extol both the new and outgoing Port Manager.

He called on the new Port Manager to engage stakeholders constructively in furtherance to improve on the traffic situation along the corridor.

In response, Buba disclosed that he understands the terrain vividly and would work closely with all components of TCIPC .

“Today, am here as PM. Please note that all of us are colleagues but somebody must hold a particular position ahead of others but be rest assured that tomorrow will be someone else turn”, he said.

Earlier speaking, Anji praised the NPA management in their effort to ensure they have a clean process where people will just come without much stress.
